
Visceral manipulation has its roots in many aspects of manual therapies. This introductory course is based on American and European osteopathic visceral work. The focus will be on anatomy, theory and palpation. You will learn hands on techniques that you can immediately take into your practice.
Class objectives:
- Demonstrate appropriate techniques to remove restrictions in the viscera covered
- Understand the history and theory of visceral manipulation
- Understand indication and contraindication in using visceral manipulation
- Enhance palpation skills
- Locate and isolate individual organs and their attachments
- Perform a general evaluation
This workshop series is offered in (4) 4 hours blocks on Mondays in August from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm:
August 3, 2026: Liver
August 10, 2026: Stomach/Esophagus
August 17, 2026: Intestines/ Mesentery
August 24, 2026: Heart/Lung

About the Instructor:
Vickie Branch D.Sc.O, DOMP, LMT is a licensed New Hampshire Massage Therapist and Manual Osteopath based in New London NH, with over 35 years in practice and 29 years as an educator. Formerly, she was the director and instructor for a NH Community College-based massage program. For the past 16 years, she has assisted with human anatomy instruction and the dissection of cadavers.
Vickie offers continuing education in anatomy, craniosacral therapy, visceral manipulation, and positional release therapy.
