With a Cupping Therapy add-on, your therapist will complement your massage with the skilled use of silicone cups; tools that offer lift, separation, stretching and decompression of tissue and can yield profound results in terms of mobility, pain reduction and relaxation.
You can add one add-on service to any massage for an additional $20 standard rate or $16 for members. To request an enhancement or learn more about a service, ask your therapist about it during the intake portion of your appointment. All add-ons require signing a waiver for the first service.
Your therapist will discuss whether cupping is appropriate for your body.
Conditions that preclude someone from this service:
- NSAIDs Medications like Aspirin and Ibuprofen taken within the last 24 hours
- Blood Thinners
- Arterial disease
- Children – We do not offer cupping therapy to folks under 18 without a physician’s release.
- Muscle dystrophy
- Pregnancy
An Important Consideration:
The suction that cups create may leave red to purplish marks on your skin that can last from hours to days. Even if you had no marks from a previous treatment or treatments, ANY cupping session might leave you with a temporary memento! Each time you request cupping, you’ll want to consider if looking like you had a fight with a large octopus has unwanted consequences. For example, cupping may not be the best treatment option just before you go to the beach or wear that open backed dress to a wedding. Unless you’d like to be a spokesmodel for our service!
