Massages are back on soon!

A few things have changed, but the health and safety of our clients and staff is still our first priority. We've kept a close watch on emerging federal, state and professional guidelines to keep our clients and staff safe, and we're taking every measure to meet and exceed them.

That said, there are still risks. Massage, by its nature, involves close contact for an extended duration. If you choose to receive massage during the COVID-19 epidemic, we’ll need your help to keep each other and our loved ones safe. Please pay close attention to the new procedures below, and understand that everyone, everyone, everyone (yes, even you!) needs to wear a mask at all times inside our business.

If you’re not ready to visit yet, we understand. We can pause your membership for as long as it takes, our gift certificates will never expire and we will be here when the time is right for you.

If you are ready, great! There are a couple of forms you’ll need to fill out. One is an informed consent form to confirm your understanding of the new risks. You’ll only need to fill this one out once and could do it right now if you choose. The other is a health screening that you’ll need to fill out within 24 hours of every appointment going forward.

Scheduling:
Our new hours
are Tuesday and Wednesday 8:30AM-4:00PM, Thursday and Friday 11:00AM-7:00PM and Saturday 9:00AM-5:00PM. All previous bookings have been removed from the schedule, and we will resume scheduling massages June 11.

All appointments need to be made by phone. We have loved offering our clients the convenience of scheduling online, but alas, new circumstances require more nuance and intelligence than our robot friend can offer.

All appointments are prepaid. Prepaid appointments eliminate any need to wait around at check-out. Prepay at the time of booking with a credit card or, for one or more appointments, by sending a check in the mail. You can pre-arrange a tip on your credit card (or include it in your check) if you’d like, or ask us to leave your card on file and ask us to add it on your way out. (At Deep Roots, 100% of credit card tips go to your therapist with no processing fee.) We’ll email you a receipt.

Services:
We are only offering appointment lengths of 60 minutes or more at this time. If you are a member with a bi-monthly 30- or 45-minute massage plan, we’ll need to combine your credits to a full hour minimum. Please call our guest service team to see what we can do.

Couples massage and massage for minors are temporarily suspended. Ugh, we know! One client and one therapist per room is the policy for now. Couples can still get massages, just not in the same room. Absence is supposed to make the heart grow fonder after all! If a client needs an assistant, that’s okay, but the assistant will need to wait outside the building during the massage.

Prenatal massage is temporarily suspended. Don’t worry -- according to the CDC, “Based on what we know about COVID-19, we believe pregnant people appear to have the same risk of COVID-19 as adults who are not pregnant. However, much remains unknown.” Deep Roots is watching the emerging data about the cardiovascular effects of COVID-19 and may continue this service when we have more information.

Your Visit:
Pre-Appointment Screening Questions:
State guidelines mandate that we must conduct a health screening for every client before every massage. We’ll send a link to the questions with your reminder email and text the day before your appointment.

Remain in your car (or outside) when you arrive, and we will call your cell phone when your appointment is ready. The state mandates this for proper social distancing. Deep Roots is known to run on time, however, simultaneous appointments may have to be staggered a few minutes apart to see everyone through separately. If you are on a tight schedule and need your appointment to begin on the dot, please let us know.

Masks must be worn in our building at all times. You can bring your own or we’ll give you one for free at the door. Clients will be shown how to remove the mask when their face is down in the cradle cushion only. But, seriously, that’s it. No mask, no massage, no exceptions.

Here are a few of the other changes we’ve made to keep you safe.

  • Increased the time between appointments to 30 minutes to allow for thorough cleaning.
  • Our therapists wear scrubs and masks and change both between appointments.
  • Placed military grade HEPA air filters in every room.
  • Reduced our number of treatment rooms to ensure no more than 10 people in the building at any one time
  • Installed all hands-free water faucets and soap dispensers, a second large washer and dryer, and a third hand-washing station.
  • Set up a station at our entry with a touchless temperature check for all clients and staff, hand sanitizer and free masks.
  • Removed all magazines, soft chairs, and merchandise. Let us know about any product you’d like to buy and we’ll have it waiting for you.
